hard wax vs. soft wax
Hard wax or soft wax? We often get asked questions like "what is that wax for?" or "are you going to use a strip?"etc, etc. So, we thought it was about time to help get to the bottom of this!
HARD WAX
Adheres to the hair not the skin
Hard wax hardens as it cools
Can be gentler on the skin
Preferred for more sensitive areas like the bikini because it is generally considered less painful
SOFT WAX
Is just that...soft
Soft wax is applied in a thin layer and removed with a cloth or paper strip
Suitable for large areas like legs
Allows for precision when shaping brows
A PRMP Wax
A PRMP waxing service is a customized experience using a variety of the highest quality waxes, to include hard, soft and a soy-based alternative.
For brows, our wax of choice is a sensitive soft wax which allows us to shape brows with precision. However, there are times when a guest's individual sensitivities may call the use of hard wax or our soy-based alternative.
For waxing in the intimate areas, we reach for hard wax most often but you may notice us reach for our soy-based alternative to quickly clean up small patches left behind. You may even notice us using a cotton "strip" to remove hard wax from time to time as a way to help minimize discomfort in hard to reach areas.
Unlike many studios and chains, who use only one wax for EVERYTHING, we like the ability to choose from an array of hard waxes to choose from based on the individual hair type and/or condition of the skin making for a truly customized experience.
